Research encouragement & Facilitations:
The Faculty Members are encouraged to upgrade their Qualifications by permitting them to register for their Doctoral Programs in any of the AICTE/UGC Recognized Research Centres and work in any of the scientific labs set up by Government of India. As of now 8 faculty Members of the Department have acquired their doctoral degree while being in service. Faculty members are facilitated by the institution by giving them academic load reduction and leave facilities for enabling them to pursue their research programs. At any given time 10% of the faculties are given opportunity to go for higher studies under Quality Improvement Program (QIP) full time, and they are given the provision of Study Leave and associated salary benefits for the same. There is no restriction on enabling the faculty to carry out any higher education program under part time and some work load reduction is also provided for the same. The external candidtaes both form industry and other institution have registered for research under VTU through our recognized research center.
In addition to recognized research center, the department is having Center of excellences in the area of Intelligent Transport Systems and other equipments available for research are Non Destructive Testing Machines (Ultrasonic Testing, Eddy Current), Video Measuring Machine (VMM), Computer Numerical Control Machine and CNC Vertical Milling Machine.
