Centre of Excellence in Computational Genomics (CoE-CG) was set up in January 2019 under the research leadership of Dr. Vidya Niranjan, Head of Department, Department of Biotechnology RVCE, Bangalore, India.
The lab is envisioned to frame a robust facility in computational biology to provide efficient solutions to research community. The mission of the lab is to provide skill development training to students leading to enhanced research ability.
Overall, the lab has amassed funds of 78 lakhs INR from Government funding agencies, 109 crores from consultancy services and over 30 lakhs via research support grants to assist research.
Our center is comprised of 8 dedicated and initiative PhD students and 2 Research scholars. The lab has floating interns of about 30 both from UG and PG streams throughout the year. Lab conducts a annual internship drive to train 100+ students across Karnataka and India.
We have an overall publication count of 43 since its inception in 2018 in reputed journals across publishers like BMC, MDPI and Elsevier.
We have collaborations with Reckitt Benckiser, Indian Institute of Science, GKVK-UAS, University of Bergen and California to name a few. We support the startup culture and are in the close knitted network of Bangalore Bio innovation Centre.
Overall, the lab focusses and strives towards an integrated base to provide solutions in agriculture and healthcare research sectors.
