Roles / Responsibilities |
Worked in Indian Railways as Group ‘A’ IRSME officer from 1982 to 2005 in various Zones/Production units of Railways viz: N.F. Railway/ Guwahati, RWF/ Bengaluru, Southern Railway/ Chennai, West Central Railway/ Jabalpur, ICF/ Chennai, South Western Railway/Hubli and RITES/ Chennai (on deputation from Railways). While working in Railways, handled multifarious Jobs involving Administration, Planning, Maintenance/Overhauling of Rolling Stocks (Coaches/Wagons/Locomotives), Production, Quality, Design and Development, Purchases & HRD. Held important port folios like; Chief Workshop Engineer/ICF/Chennai, Additional Divisional Railway Manager/ Jabalpur, Chief Rolling Stock Engineer/South Western Railway etc. While on deputation to RITES from Railways, worked as General Manager, in-charge of Quality Assurance Wing, Southern Region at Chennai. Presently working as Registrar since March 2014 in R V College of Engineering. |

Developing and implementation of systems as per ISO 9000 Quality Standards, ISO 14000 Environmental Management Standards, M208 American Rail Road Standards etc resulting in RWF/Yelahanka getting the most Coveted Golden Peacock Award for Quality from the Institute of Directors. Introduced the latest concepts like ‘5S’, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Single Minute Exchange Dies in BEML bringing in hundreds of improvements in Systems/Products resulting in not only Productivity/Quality improvements but also annual savings in Crores of Rupees. |
