  • Department  offers PhD from Research centre recognized by VTU. PhD Awarded-5, PhD Pursuing -8
  • Received Rs. 2.60  lakhs from AICTE, Govt of India to Organize short term training programme on "Creating and Sustaining Ethical Workplace Culture" during  19th-24th August 2019.
  • Organized Biodiesel awareness program for the farmers of villages in  Ramnagar district  during 2019-20, as part of BIDC-RVCE project funded by KSCST,  Govt of Karnataka.
  •  Organized Academic enrichment program on “Nanoscience and Technology: Trends and Challenges” in association with ‘Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), Bengaluru during 8th March 2019.
  • Organized International Conference On Smart Engineering Materials(ICSEM-2016) during  20-22 Oct, 2016-Inaugurated by Bharat Ratna Prof. CNR Rao.
  • Received VGST project grant worth Rs. 30 Lakhs for  CISEE PROGRAMME (Centre for Innovation in Science in Engineering Education), during 2013-2016 santioned by  VGST, Govt of Karnataka.
  • Received Rs. 35.95 lakhs  in 2012 from Karnataka State Bio-fuel De velopment Board (KSBDB), Government of Karnataka for “Establishment of Bio-fuel Information and Demonstration Centre (BIDC-RVCE)” at R.V. College of Engineering in colloboration with mechanical dept and Biotechnolgy dept.
  • Establishment of Advanced Polymer Material Research Laboratory and Invention of NCCS cable product. Granted Indian patent (199139/MAS/2002.) for this invention and commercialized the product.
  • Recieved National award  (NRDC award) in 2004 for the invention of NCCS cable product.
  • Deaprtment developed  technology for Asphalting of roads using waste plastics  and  used for roads in bangalore
  • All the faculties are Ph.D holders with good research experience.
  • Publication in International/National  journals - 70
