Department of Chemistry started in the year 1963 and has been teaching Engineering Chemistry at the first year level for all branches of Engineering. Department offers  Technical Chemistry to Chemical Engineering students and  global electives for all the branches of Engineering.  All the ten faculties  of the department  are doctorate holders. Department is equipped with  two research laboratories and  eight research scholars are  pursuing their PhD programme.  The research areas of interest are Organic Material synthesis, Inorganic Complexes, Nano materials, Medicinal Chemistry, Elastomeric Materials  and Electrospun Polymeric Films.
