  1. Akhil.M. participated in World Solar Challenge 2017, representing India and competing against teams from MIT, Stanford and Michigan. successfuly built India's most advanced Solar Electric Vehicle incorporating advanced composite fabrication, telemetry and unique encapsulation of solar array system.
  2. Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) has a student Chapter which is active in conducting programmes
  3. Many Faculty members are life members of IIChE, and ISTE.
  4. Students are encouraged to present papers in seminars organized by other colleges and students win many prizes.
  5. Students of chemical engineering participate in extracurricular activities such as acting, debate, music (instrumental and vocal), quiz and have brought laurels to the department.
  6. Entrepreneurship activities in the department encourage the students to take entrepreneurship as a serious career option, and some are in the process of establishing their own enterprise. This also gives students an opportunity to innovate.
  7. Ms. Madhulika N. was awarded a Certificate of Excellence for the essay “The city of the future” at earthian 2013, Wipro's Sustainability Program for Schools and Colleges.
  8. Ms. Yogashree Bharath participated in the ECO Quiz Meet 13 at R.V. College of Engineering and got I place, 5 Apr 2013.
  9. Mr. Hari Narayanan T.R. participated in the general quiz at Global Skies 12 at Bangalore and won II place, 20 Oct 2012.
  10. Mr. Sehran Khan Z and Mr. Gautham S. participated in Tathva 12 at National Institute of Technology Calicut and won 1st Place, 17-21 Oct 2012.
  11. Mr. Karthik Machani and Mr. Harinarayanan T.R. participated in the QUIZITALIA 2012 at Bangalore and won II place, 20 Oct 2012.
  12. Mr. Rickson was the winner in weightlifting, and secured the 3rd place in powerlifting, at the Inter Collegiate Inter Zone Tournament/Competition of NMAM I.T., Nitte, 20-22 Sept 2014, conducted by the VTU Department of Physical Education & Sports.
  13. Mr. Siddharth R. Chowdhary secured a passing certificate of the Preliminary Selection Exam, by the Japan Information Center, New Delhi, on 25 Jul 2013.
  14. Ms. Arpitha B.R. secured the second place in the Essay Writing Competition,2013
  15. Mr. Ashwin Shenoy participated in state level Volleyball at KS Institute of Technology and won I prize, on 4-5 Mar 2013.
  16. Ms. Shifa participated in the Cross Country VTU Inter Collegiate Inter zone sports competitions at Dr. TTIT, KGF and won 3rd place, on 22- 23 Mar 2013.
  17.
