The department regularly conducts national seminars and symposia on current topics for the benefit of the students and staff.

A six day Faculty Development Programme on “Advanced Functional Materials” was organized during 5th -10th August 2019 by Department of Physics, Chemistry and Centre of Excellence-Macroelectronics, RV College of Engineering.

A six day AICTE sponsored Share & Mentor Institutions (Margdarshan) Scheme, Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Computational Science in Engineering” was organized during 15th -20th July 2019.

   

The department conducted open lecture series on "ICT enabled Physics Experiments and training on thin film solar cells"  conducted at R V College of Engineering, sponsored by Karnataka State Science and Technology Academy (KSTA) and CoE-Macroelectronics, RVCE  from 22nd Oct to 27th Oct 2018. The participants were exposed to open source hardware and software frame work for simulating Physics experiments using ICT and gained hands on experience in Thin film solar cell fabrication and  Characterization techniques.

                              

A six day Faculty Development Program on "Recent Advances in engineering Physics" was conducted at R.V. College of Engineering from the 27/02/2017 to 4/03/2017. The topics discussed ranged in astrophysics, thin-film technology, Bio-Physics, Quantum-Optics, Cryogenics, Teaching ethics to name a few. Various distinguished researchers and teachers presented their work and views on their areas of interest. The workshop provided a platform for budding researchers and students to interact and update themselves in various areas of cutting edge research in Physics.

  

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

The department conducted a one day national seminar on "Nano Materials". The main objective of the seminar was to provide an opportunity for the college teachers to gain an insight into the hottest field of 21st century Nano technology and also to provide an opportunity for the participants to interact with experts in the field of Nano technology. Some of the topics covered in this seminar were Nano scale systems, Fabrication technology, Carbon nano tubes and its applications.

The department conducted a One day workshop on “Molecular Electronics and Bio sensors” in coordination with Electronics, Instrumentation Technology and Chemical engineering departments. The main objective of the workshop was to provide a platform to the faculty to take up research work in the field of molecular electronics, thin film technology etc.

The department conducted two day National Seminar on “Current Trends in Physics”. The main objectives of the seminar were to provide an opportunity for the college teachers and students to gain an insight into the frontier areas of research in Physics and also to provide an opportunity to interact with experts in the relevant field. The topics covered in the seminar were Liquid crystal, Satellite communication, Smart materials, MEMS, Nanotechnology and Carbon nano tubes.
