Several faculty members of the department are life members of Indian Society for Technical Education and Institute of Engineers.
YANTRA (students’ forum)

  • The official students’ forum of the department is "YANTRA”, which conducts seminars, workshops, and technical events to help the students improve their knowledge and develop leadership qualities. 

  • Industrial visits for students are organized on a regular basis (ACE Designers, Bosch India, HAL, NAL, VISL, MPM, RTPS, Varahi Hydel Project, Mahatma Gandhi Power Station, BEML, Wheel & Axle Plant, etc) 

  • The students are encouraged to carry out innovative projects and participate in National and International Conferences. Some of the innovative projects carried out by students and for which financial assistance is provided by the college are

  • Project ASHWA – Design and Development of Combustion, Hybrid and the Electric Car

OUR LATEST PROTOTYPE : X8C Formula Bharat

Some of the laurels that Team Ashwa has won over the years are:

  • Formula Bharat India 2018 - New national record in acceleration thus certifying X8C as the fastest car in India. 

  • Formula Bharat India 2018 – 2nd position in Business presentation for demo electric prototype

  • Formula Hybrid New Hampshire USA 2017 -2nd position overall

  • FSAE INDIA 2014 – 3rd Place in Fuel Economy

  • FSAE Italy 2012 – Best Asian Team.

  • FSAE Italy 2010& 2011 - Best Asian car at the Event.

  • FSAE Italy (ATA) 2009 – Best Endeavour Award and designs appreciated by judges over many foreign teams.

  • Formula Student Germany 2007 – Young Achiever Award 2007 by Rotary International and Brigade Group.

  • FSAE Australia 2006 – Best Asian car.

  • FSAE Australia 2005 - Best Endeavour Award and Best Cost Award.

TEAM HELIOS RACING : Design and Development of All -Terrain Vehicle (ATV)

Some of the laurels that Team Helios Racing has won over the years are:

  • 2017: second lightest vehicle in India with custom made CVT

  • Rochester World Challenge, New York, USA 2016: 2nd position in acceleration among top 100 teams of the world

  • BAJA SAE India 2016 : 1st position in Go Green category, 2nd in acceleration, hill climb and endurance category

  • BAJA Student India 2016 : 1st position in acceleration, stood in top 3 in Engineering Design

RVCE SOLAR CAR TEAM

  • The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2017 Australia - Only Indian team to participate.

  • The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2015 Australia - Only Indian team to participate.

  • The only student team to participate in Zinnov-Confluence 2015.

  • Won 1st Prize in the Dr. AIT technical exhibition held in 2016.

  • Won 1st Prize in the Alpha College of Engineering tech exhibition, 2016

Project Chimera- Design and Development of Hybrid car

  • Student Formula Japan 2017 – 6th position in EV category

  • Student Formula Japan 2016 – Best Debutant Award

Project Garuda – premier Super-mileage car

 

  • Successfully completed the technical and safety inspection in Shell Eco-Marathon Asia held in Singapore in March 2017.

Project KRUSHI

 

  • Developed Aerial Work Platform (AWP) mounted on Farmtrac 6065 for harvesting crops like areca nut, coconut and palm

  • The AWP project is under Patent process. Patent application Number – 2017410/32708

  • Selected as one among the 10 best papers across India in a seminar held by Fluid Power Society of India on 19th - 20th June 2017 at IISC Bengaluru

Project VYOMA –- Design and Development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)

  • BENGALURU SPACE EXPO 2010 - The second edition of Asia’s only focused exhibition on Space Technologies, Products and Innovations was held from 25th to 28th August 2010 at BIEC, Bengaluru, India. Project Vyoma was the only non-commercial and student team to exhibit its works in the esteemed international exhibition.

  • NASA SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AWARD - We were awarded First Prize beating 75 international teams in the Systems Engineering Award competition sponsored and managed by NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate in partnership with SAE International showing the world to think beyond conventional designs which was held in April, 2013.

  • SPARKFUN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE CHALLENGE 2015 - Aerial vehicles were not allowed to participate from this year. So, the team debuted with an autonomous ground vehicle in Pelton class and secured 4th position.
  • DBF 2017 – Project Vyoma Designed a tube launched foldable aircraft and secured 1st among 138 international teams in proposal.
