VTU Research Centre in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering was started in the year 2004, with provision for Ph.D. (Full Time / Part Time), Integrated Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.). Since then the research facility is available for research scholars to carry out research in their specific area. Students and research scholars are encouraged to take up inter-disciplinary research in various domains like data mining, computer vision, natural language processing, networks etc. 40% of faculty members are guiding Ph.D. students in various fields of computer science in collaboration with other inter-disciplinary research areas. Open Seminars for Research Scholars will be conducted at regular intervals to assess their Research progress. Department of CSE is engaged in developing state of the art technologies in collaboration with private/public sector organizations.
